I am a self taught multi media artist and sculptor. My genre is mostly abstract and surrealism. I have been interested in art from a very early age. My father was a commercial sign artist while I was growing up. That however was not the inspiration for my art. I started drawing sketches and wanted to learn how to apply my talents to fine arts by applying color to my monochromatic drawings. I took one art class in college which introduced me to acrylic as a medium. With practice, a lot of patience, and an eye for color I started adding color to my art. The media I use mostly is acrylic for painting. As for sculpting, I use limestone because it is abundant in the Midwest and if I find another type of stone, I will try sculpting it. When I sculpt rock, I look for whatever image is locked into it until I take my hammer and chisel and start releasing the image locked from within the stone.

Des Plaines Spirit is a limestone sculpture highlighted with pastel chalk to give it a life like look. Then sealed with bee's wax. There is a history about this sculpture as well.
